About Me
Hi, I 'm Lane Wallace.
I'm a 3D generalist and Junior Visual Effects student at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I specialize in bringing ideas to life through a blend of CG animation, 3D product visualization, look development, and visual effects.
What I Do
With over seven years of experience in 3D art and three years working professionally with freelance clients, my background spans film, editing, motion media, and graphic design. I have collaborated on indie games, advertisements, animations, and professional film projects.
Beyond my own artwork, I am passionate about sharing what I learn. This drive led me to build a YouTube community of over 30k subscribers where I create Blender content and tutorials, alongside managing assets for fellow creators on platforms like Patreon.
Why I Do It
While the nature of VFX is highly technical, my passion lies in storytelling and the creative process. My roots in traditional film, combined with a love for photography, cinematography, and lighting, heavily influence my 3D work. Whether I am exploring high-concept ideas or simple animations, my goal is to express unique visions rather than just execute technical tasks.
I'm a firm believer in creative cross-pollination. My daily inspirations from music and emerging technology constantly find their way into my art. I believe that all knowledge is connected, and experimenting in one area will inevitably lead to outside-the-box thinking in another. I'm always looking for new ways to push my limits, learn new tools, and tell compelling stories.
