The rough rocky surface of the block was created by combining multiple voronoi textures, and a single noise texture for dirt.
Ambient occlusion nodes mixed with a voronoi allowed for crevice dirt and edge wear on the surface.

Since procedural materials drastically slow down render times, I baked a diffuse, normal, and roughness map for one of the blocks. This allowed for a large increase in performance.

Blocks and More Blocks
Originally the goal was just to make one block and call it a day... but I got a little carried away. By the end of the project I had made 12 unique blocks with varying damage, but all using the same material.

Procedural Cinder Block Material
This was a personal summer project and experiment to see how realistic I could make a procedural material inside of Blender.
